Laws of the Pride
Be a Leader • Be Safe • Be Responsible • Be Respectful • Be the Example
Elementary school is where the magic of learning begins. It is a time when curiosity is encouraged, confidence is built, and students discover who they are as learners and members of a community. At our school, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) provides the structure and care that allows this magic to flourish—creating a safe, positive environment where every child feels supported, valued, and inspired to grow.
PBIS helps bring learning to life by supporting the development of foundational skills across all domains—academic, social, emotional, and behavioral. Through clear expectations, intentional teaching of behavior, and meaningful recognition, students are given the opportunity to explore, make mistakes, and learn in ways that build independence and joy. This balance of structure and encouragement protects the magic of childhood while setting students up for long-term success.
Guided by our Laws of the Pride—Be a Leader, Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be the Example—we teach students how their choices impact themselves and others. Our PBIS practices are intentionally data-driven and system-focused, allowing us to align supports and services to meet the needs of the whole child. These consistent systems ensure students experience both accountability and care as they grow.
Strong relationships are at the heart of our elementary community. The positive connections built between students and staff create a sense of safety and belonging, allowing students to take risks, develop confidence, and discover their strengths in a supportive environment.
Our tiered framework ensures the magic reaches every learner:
Tier 1 (Universal Supports):
Schoolwide expectations rooted in the Laws of the Pride, proactive teaching of behavior, positive classroom environments, celebration of positive choices, and community-building experiences that create a joyful and inclusive school culture.Tier 2 (Targeted Supports):
Small group interventions focused on social-emotional skill building, mentoring, behavior supports, and check-in/check-out systems to provide additional guidance and encouragement.Tier 3 (Intensive Supports):
Individualized interventions, wraparound services, and close collaboration with families and specialists to ensure students with the highest needs are fully supported.
