Upcoming School Safety Drill Parent Notification
As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, we will be conducting a lockdown drill on Wednesday, January 28th in the afternoon. The drill is expected to last approximately 15 minutes.
During this drill, students and staff will practice our standard lockdown procedures, which include:
- Securing classroom doors
- Moving away from windows and doors
- Remaining quiet
- Following staff instructions
Please be assured that this drill:
- Is designed to be age-appropriate and trauma-informed
- Will NOT include any simulated violence
- Will be clearly announced as a drill before and after
- Will be supervised by trained staff members
It is important to note that the school will remain secured during the drill and staff will not be answering the school office line. The school activities will resume immediately following the drill.
School counselors will be available to support any students who may need assistance.
If you wish to opt your child out of participating in this drill, please visit the school by Tuesday, January 27th to sign the opt out form. Students who opt out will be supervised in the front office during the drill.
